People Stories

Team welcome videos for new joiners

Perfect welcome videos for new hires.

Short video messages from future teammates, ready before day one.

Why it helps

A few familiar faces can make day one feel different.

A new job means meeting new people, learning names and figuring out who does what. A short welcome from future colleagues can make all the difference.

How it works

Easy for you. Even easier for your colleagues.

For the HR manager

Set up once, share in minutes.

  • Easy to set up and share. Create a welcome video, send a private link, then share the finished video.
  • Simple editing. Watch the preview, choose which clips to include and adjust their order or length.
  • No skills required. No editing software and no design work. People Stories brings the clips together into one video for you.
  • Build a library once. Keep each colleague's introduction and reuse it for every new joiner.

For colleagues

One link. Under a minute.

  • One link. Nothing to install and nothing to learn.
  • No log-in. No account and no password. Only the organiser signs in.
  • All done on their phone. Open the link, record a short message and send it. It takes about a minute.

Total control.

Colleagues contribute through a link without creating an account. Nothing is published until you decide it is ready.

  1. 1Collect. Send one private link and the videos come to you.
  2. 2Review. Reorder, trim and remove clips until it feels right.
  3. 3Publish. Share the finished video only when you're happy with it.

The alternatives

Good to know

A few common questions.

Why make a welcome video for a new joiner?
Hiring someone takes time and care. A short, personal video helps them feel special and lets them put faces and voices to the colleagues they'll soon work with.
What should colleagues say?
Their name, their role and one thing the new joiner can come to them for. For example: "Hi Maya, I'm Alex from Customer Success. I can help you understand what our customers need. Looking forward to meeting you."
How long should a welcome video be?
Three or four minutes. Clips can be up to a minute, and around thirty seconds each works well, so four to six colleagues fits nicely and is short enough to watch twice.
Do colleagues need an account or an app?
No. They record or upload a video through a private link from their phone or laptop. Only the organiser needs to sign in.
Can colleagues upload a clip they've already recorded?
Yes. The recording page takes a video from their phone or laptop as well as recording one there and then.
What if someone isn't happy with their clip?
They can record it again or remove it from the same device they sent it from, until the deadline. You can also leave any clip out of the finished video.
Will people actually do this?
We have made it unbelievably easy, and it should take less than 60 seconds. It is not a big ask, and 99% of people will be happy to do it.
What does the finished video look like?
A portrait video, made to watch on a phone, with a name card for each person as they speak and a closing card with the new starter's name. You can watch it through the private link or download it as an MP4 file.
Who can watch the finished video?
Anyone you send the private watch link to. Share it only with the people you want to see it.
When do I pay, and what happens if I cancel?
Setting up your team, collecting clips and previewing your video are free. You subscribe when you're ready to publish, share or download a finished video. See pricing for the details.
